Lafarge has decided to implement the TMS FALCON system, which will optimize the costs of transporting construction materials and increase the efficiency of the logistics department. The decision to choose OPTIDATA as a TMS software supplier was made, among others, by after analyzing this class of systems and after reference visits, which showed a huge competitive advantage of TMS FALCON, due to:

  • intuitive system operation and its configuration options,

  • efficient automation of planning processes,

  • quick communication with service providers (mailing, WWW, SMS notifications, mobile application),

  • the ability to quickly modify the system for dedicated processes.

The implementation of TMS FALCON is planned in two basic product lines of the company: cement and aggregates. The scope of work included inbound and outbound transport with the option of extending it to transport concrete, alternative fuels and full rail transport management. In the first stage of implementation, interfaces to external systems and the basic version of TMS FALCON were launched. In the next step, an automatic planning algorithm for the aggregate business and vehicle tracking were developed. The last stage of implementation covered the cement business.

The implementation of the TMS FALCON system allowed for the standardization and automation of transport processes throughout the Group. The most important goal of the client, which he wanted to achieve after introducing the software, was the automation of planning processes. It ensured the maximum level of on-time fulfillment of orders to customers within the available fleet, taking into account customer priorities, minimum cost, maximizing the use of capacity and the lowest possible CO2 emissions.

Benefits of implementing the TMS FALCON system in Lafarge:

  • Standardization of transport processes.

  • Automation of activities.

  • Acceleration of transport planning processes.

  • Maximizing the use of available means of transport.

  • Reduction of transportation costs.

  • Reduction of CO2 emissions (pro-ecological approach to business).
